Booking
How far in advance should we book?
As soon as you have a date and venue. Saturdays in peak wedding season are the first to go, and we take a limited number of events on each date.
How do we reserve our date?
A signed agreement and a deposit reserve your date. The remaining balance is due before the event.
Do you travel?
Yes. We perform at events nationwide. Travel fees depend on distance and are included in your quote.
Can we meet our DJ before the event?
Yes. Every package includes a planning consultation, and your DJ and emcee review your timeline with you before the day.
The day of your event
How early do you arrive to set up?
We arrive early enough to set up and sound-check before your first guest walks in, typically about two hours for a reception with lighting.
What do you need from the venue?
Access to standard power near the DJ area, a space for the booth, and the venue's load-in times. We coordinate the details with your venue directly.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry full liability insurance and send a certificate of insurance to your venue on request.
Do you bring backup equipment?
Yes. Backup equipment travels to every event so the night never stops.
What if we want to keep dancing past our package time?
Add an extra hour when you book, or ask your DJ on the night if the venue allows it.
Music
Can we give you a must-play and do-not-play list?
Yes. Use our online planning tools to share must-plays, do-not-plays, and the songs for every key moment.
Do you take requests from guests?
Yes, within your guidelines. Your do-not-play list always wins.
Can you handle our ceremony and cocktail hour?
Yes. Ceremony sound includes a wireless microphone for your officiant, and we can play cocktail hour music in a separate space.
Lighting and effects
Are cold spark fountains safe indoors?
Yes. Cold spark machines produce sparks that are cool to the touch and use no flame. We confirm approval with your venue before the event.
Will the fog from Dancing on a Cloud set off fire alarms?
It's a low-lying effect that stays on the floor and is designed not to rise. We check your venue's requirements before every event.
Can lighting match our wedding colors?
Yes. Uplighting is programmed to your palette, and custom monograms are designed with you before the day.
Schools and corporate
Is your staff cleared to work at schools?
Yes. Our staff are Jessica Lunsford Act compliant, and all music and videos are clean edits.
Can you produce our corporate event and emcee the program?
Yes. We provide sound, lighting, screens and an emcee who follows your script for awards, sponsors and speakers.
